June 22, 2021

Dear parents and guardians,

The report card your child receives on June 25, 2021 may list numerical grades of 65 or higher that you  may request to be changed to “CR” (credit).

If this is the choice you and your child make, you must communicate this request through your parent Talos account on talos.stuy.edu. (Please note: this is not a feature in the student Talos account; only in the parent Talos account)

The option to convert numerical grades to “CR” does not apply to marking period grades for marking period 1 and Marking Period 2. Only marking period 3 grades appear on the transcript. The changes to CR are reflected in the final grade on the transcript.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS  AND DEADLINE FOR CLASS OF 2021

We are offering an expedited request for seniors as colleges receive final transcripts at the end of the year. All requests for “CR” grades for seniors must be submitted no later than Sunday, June 27, 2021 at 6pm. This ensures that all CR requests will be processed before being sent to colleges starting on June 29.

Note: Parents and guardians of seniors may begin to view final grades on their NYC Schools Account beginning on or about June 23 as they are entered into the DOE’s system and may begin to submit CR requests as soon as they would like from June 23, 2021. If assistance is needed with the NYC Schools Account, contact Ms. Ingram at ringram3@schools.nyc.gov

All families in grades 9-11 will be able to begin making requests on Monday, June 28, 2021 at 8am via the Talos parent account using the instructions noted earlier in this letter. Your access to submit CR requests will remain locked until that time to allow for senior families’ requests to be prioritized.

Parents may choose the "CR" option for all courses with a passing grade or for specific courses with a passing grade. You have the right to discuss these options with school staff.

Should you have any questions or concerns, you may reach out to your child’s School Counselor or if you have a question or concern from June 30, 2021 or thereafter, contact Assistant Principal, Ms. Pedrick at cpedrick@schools.nyc.gov.

Sincerely,

Stuyvesant High School Administration
