As a courtesy reminder, the opportunity to request a CR that will appear on transcripts sent to colleges for your senior will expire tonight, Sunday, June 25 at 11:59pm. Please re-read the instructions below sent to you on June 20 to submit your requests by tonight. June 20, 2023 Dear parents and guardians, For the Spring Term 2023, parents/guardians may choose to have any numerical passing grade of 65 or higher updated to a passing grade of “credit” (CR). Grades of “CR” will not be factored into students’ GPAs. If this is the choice you and your child make, you must communicate this request through your parent Talos account on talos.stuy.edu<https://talos.stuy.edu/>. PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY. Parents may choose the "CR" option for all courses with a passing grade or for individual courses with a passing grade. You have the right to discuss these options with school staff. Parents/guardians of SENIORS: In order for transcripts to be updated to reflect changes in time to be sent to colleges and institutions with final grades, senior families may review grades using parent Talos accounts as well as parent NYC Schools Accounts at mystudent.nyc beginning on Thursday, June 22, 2023. Good afternoon seniors, Tomorrow is the last day of classes for you at Stuyvesant, and a busy day ahead. We’re looking forward to celebrating with you at graduation on June 26 at the Barclays Center. You will soon receive detailed information and instructions from Mr. Polazzo. …but first…. Some important reminders for today, Tuesday, June 13. * Please return all library books checked out to the library. * Please return your textbooks, English reading books and devices on loan (including accessories) today in the lobby from 9am to 4pm. * You can view books checked out to you on Talos under “fees”. * If you lost a book, you may pay the fee in room 209 by cash, check or money order paid to Stuyvesant High School. You must put your name and OSIS in the memo. * If you returned a book that is listed in Talos, you must see the department chair of that subject to clear it. * If you lost a device or accessory, there may be a fee. These may be paid by cash, check or money order paid to Stuyvesant High School. You must put your full name and OSIS in the memo. * If you are a an award recipient who did not already do so on June 7, please pick up your award(s) in the lobby from 9am to 4pm. * Those notified of monetary awards should follow the instructions for check pickup in your email or contact ringram3(a)schools.nyc.gov<mailto:ringram3@schools.nyc.gov> * You must clean out your locker and leave the lock behind today— this is for both your PE locker if you have one and your hallway locker. Senior name/pronunciation at Graduation

Please excuse the weekend email. I’ve been advised by the Coordinator of Student Affairs and senior caucus that due to an auto-generated error, your child received an erroneous email this morning from Marching Order. They should ignore that email with the wrong graduation information. Instead, encourage your senior to fill out the form that will be sent to them shortly from senior(a)stuysu.org so that their name appears on the Big Screen at graduation and is pronounced properly. They will receive the email as below shortly: Hey future graduates, You probably saw an email pop-up in your inbox just now from MarchingOrder. We wanted to clarify a few details that might have been incorrectly reported in the email: 1. Our graduation will be starting on June 26th at Barclays Center (620 Atlantic Ave) at 8:30AM 2. You will receive your ticket confirmation later; As of right now we just wanted to make sure that you are registered within our system. 3. Please make sure to fill out all the details in the registration correctly. That includes the pronunciation question. If you think you might need to send in a sound clip of how to pronounce your name, please fill out this form<https://forms.gle/Bvh9nYKKkUepcPo8A>. There will be no senior slides this year. Re: Opportunity to decline Regents Waivers

Please see the notification below. If you wish to decline the already posted waivers for previous Regents exams on the transcript, the student will need to take the Regents exam for a score. No action is necessary at all if you wish to keep the waiver granted on the student transcript. 6/2/2023 Dear Parent/Guardian, With the cancellation of most Regents exams due to the COVID-19 pandemic (June 2020, August 2020, January 2021, June 2021, August 2021, and January 2022), your student can waive one or more Regents exams to graduate. Waiving an exam means that your student does not have to take and pass that exam to graduate because they met the criteria to receive a waiver. You can decide not to have your student waive their Regents exams if you prefer your child to stay in high school until they meet graduation requirements or until the end of the school year in which they turn 21. If you choose to decline a Regents exam waiver, this decision cannot be reversed. Your student will be expected to work toward passing the exam in future administrations. Reach out to your student’s school to discuss how the flexibilities due to COVID-19 impact your student’s options for continuing to work toward graduation. If you decide to accept all the Regents exam waivers due to COVID-19, your student will graduate as soon as they earn all their course credits. Please reply to this email at programoffice(a)stuy.edu and let us know which option you have chosen for your student. If your student does not have an Individualized Education Program (IEP), we need to hear back from you we need to hear back from you as soon as possible.
