REMINDER: Deadline for CR requests 2/2/25 @11:59pm

Dear senior families, As a reminder, the deadline to submit a CR grade request to be visible on the mid-year transcript sent to colleges is Sunday, February 2 by 11:59pm. Requests submitted after that date will be processed, but will not be visible on the transcript sent to colleges this week. Here is a copy of the instructions you received from Mr. Makris. You may find full instructions at this link<https://talos.stuy.edu/cms/pages/stuyvesant-blog/cr-requests-fall-term-2024-...>. Best, Dina Please be aware that the College Office will begin to send mid-year transcripts for seniors on Tuesday, February 4. This is not an issue for colleges requesting mid-year grades that may have posted earlier deadlines; those deadlines are always contingent upon the availability of said grades based upon varying high school calendars. -Families making any CR requests in TALOS must do so strictly in accordance with the instructions & timeline articulated via email on 1/24 and in Stuy’s weekly update on 1/27. The deadline to make CR requests in Talos is February 2 at 11:59pm. CR requests made after that date will not be processed before transcripts are sent to colleges. Please also remember that the CR policy was a pandemic era measure created to assist students facing hardship as a direct result of the COVID pandemic. This was not intended to be a perpetual tool through which students hide grades or inflate their gpas. CRs on student transcripts are a red-flag for colleges unless a compelling explanation is provided by the applicant. -Check with your teacher immediately if you catch a mistake or omission in your senior grades and offer them a friendly reminder that they must officially change the grade in conjunction with the Program Office ASAP since your final first term grades must be sent to colleges. - Admissions officers expect students to follow through with their academic commitments throughout the entire senior year. They expect you to be honest when reporting your senior year course schedule. It is your responsibility to inform the colleges about significant differences between what you reported you would be taking this spring when you applied, and what you are actually taking. More specifically, you must inform colleges if you dropped AP or other college level coursework for the spring term. This should be done by sending a concise email to each college’s office of undergraduate admission explaining why the schedule change was required. Or, upload a concise explanation in the college’s applicant portal. -if you were deferred to a college early and plan on reaffirming your interest with that college but have not already done so, do it now. Revisit our email to all seniors from December 4 if you did not see that when first shared with you. Best of luck with the start of your last term at Stuy!
