
September 20, 2024 Dear Students and families, Stuyvesant High School will administer the school day PSAT/NMSQT to sophomores (Grade 10) on either Tuesday, October 1, 2024, or Wednesday, October 2, 2024. Approximately half of the sophomore class will be scheduled for each testing date. Please note, we cannot accept requests for testing date preferences. You will be notified of the date you are assigned and your room assignment on or before September 27, 2024. Please see the key information below: * School day PSAT/NMSQT is free for all sophomores (Grade 10) * PSAT/NMSQT is in digital format and devices will be provided by Stuyvesant (Note: Personal devices will not be allowed for the school day PSAT/NMSQT) * Registration for the exam is not required with the College Board or Stuyvesant * Prior notification is not required if a student does not wish to take the PSAT/NMSQT * Test room assignments and other testing details including reporting time will be sent on or before Friday, September 27, 2024. * A special schedule following the exam will be followed for students in ALL grades. Any sophomore who chooses not to sit for the in-school PSAT/NMSQT will follow the abbreviated school day schedule that all non-test takers will follow on the October 1 or October 2, test dates. Period attendance will be taken during the abbreviated school day schedule. Test-taking sophomores (Grade 10) only are to arrive at Stuyvesant High School and be in their assigned test room no later than 8:15 am (Breakfast will be available starting at 7:30 am). Those who sit for the exam may either leave the building for lunch or have lunch in the cafeteria from 12:00 pm to 12:50 pm. PSAT/NMSQT Day Schedule for Test Takers: Schedule Activity 7:30 am - 8:00 am Optional breakfast in student cafeteria available for test-taking sophomores (Grade 10) 8:15 am - 9:00 am Test-taking sophomore (Grade 10) report to assigned rooms, sign in, and complete the PSAT/NMSQT Pre-administration 9:00 am - 12:00 pm Digital PSAT/NMSQT Exam Administration 12:00 pm - 12:50 pm Test-taking sophomores (Grade 10) may have lunch in the cafeteria or exit the building 12:54 pm - 2:50 pm Special school schedule for all students (Grade 9, 10, 11, and 12) Please note, 9th, 11th, and 12th graders do not report to school in the morning. This also includes sophomores (Grade 10) who choose not to take the PSAT/NMSQT exam. They are to arrive at Stuyvesant High School at the start of their first period on the special schedule that will be provided soon.
