As mentioned in the Weekly Update on Monday, registration for the AMC Exam opens this afternoon, October 9 at 3:35pm. Math Team students do NOT need to register and are already registered. Open registration is available on a first come first served basis and space is limited. Please see below and direct any questions to Mr. Sterr at bsterr@schools.nyc.gov
American Mathematics Competition (AMC) Registration
The Stuyvesant Math Team, in conjunction with the Mathematics Department, will be administering the AMC exams (American Mathematics Competition). Both exams will be held during school during Periods 1 and 2.
AMC A Exam The AMC 10A/12A exams will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 from 8:00am to 9:25am.
AMC B Exam The AMC 10B/12B exams will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 from 8:00am to 9:25am.
Students may take one exam or both. Taking both exams gives students two chances to qualify for the next round of exams, the American Invitational Math Exam (AIME).
Eligibility Students in grades 9 and 10 can register for the AMC 10 exam. They must have been born after 5/6/2007. Students in grades 11 or 12 can register for the AMC 12 exam. They must have been born after 5/6/2005.
Math Team Student All students in Math Team are required to take both AMC exams and are automatically registered for them. Their fees for the exams will be paid for by the Math Team.
Other Students All other students interested in taking either AMC exam may register online through the attached link.
Registration To register, follow the link and click on the Registration button. Registration will open at 3:35pm on Wednesday 10/9. More info is available at the link below. Please fill out the form by Monday October 28th, 2024.
