Dear parents and guardians, For the Spring Term 2025, parents/guardians may choose to have any numerical passing grade of 65 or higher updated to a passing grade of “credit” (CR). Grades of “CR” will not be factored into students’ GPAs. If this is the choice you and your child make, you must communicate this request through your parent Talos account on talos.stuy.edu<https://talos.stuy.edu/>. PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY. Parents may choose the "CR" option for all courses with a passing grade or for individual courses with a passing grade. You have the right to discuss these options with school staff. Parents/guardians of SENIORS: In order for transcripts to be updated to reflect changes in time to be sent to colleges and institutions with final grades, senior families may review grades using parent Talos accounts as well as parent NYC Schools Accounts at mystudent.nyc beginning on Friday, June 21, 2025. By 4 pm on June 21, we will post grades to Talos under “Grades” and “MP3” for seniors. Grades are being posted as they are submitted by teachers. If you are interested in requesting any passing grade of 65 or higher converted to “CR” to be reflected on transcripts sent to colleges and institutions, these requests must be submitted no later than Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at 12:00 pm (noon) via parent Talos accounts. This is a hard deadline. CR requests made after this deadline will not be reflected on the final transcripts sent to colleges. You must be in 2024-2025 Term 2 in the upper right corner on Talos to see current CR options. Parents/guardians of grades 9-11: You may submit requests for any passing grade of 65 or higher to be converted to “CR” beginning June 26, 2025, when report card grades will be available via email and on Talos and NYC Schools Accounts. Parents/guardians with Talos accounts will also receive report cards via email with comments translated in their written preferred languages. The report cards will be visible in Talos under the “grades” tab in MP3 for 2024-2025 Term 2. Instructions for requesting “CR” in Talos Parent accounts: * Parent/Guardian must log into their Talos account. If a student is 18 years of age, request access via email to ringram3@schools.nyc.gov<mailto:ringram3@schools.nyc.gov> * Click “CR List” on the left side bar of your account * Click “create” to select the grades you want to “CR”. * Important: ensure you toggle to ‘School Year 2024-2025 Term 2’ in the upper right hand corner. * Click the course you wish to request a “CR” for in the drop down menu. Any parent who needs assistance accessing their Talos account should contact Ms. Ingram at ringram3@schools.nyc.gov. If the student is over the age of 18, they may make the request. Please contact Ms. Ingram for permissions on your Talos account. Please note: the transcript is a record of all the classes a student is enrolled in over their high school career; this includes classes taken over the summer. A change to “CR” if requested will be reflected in the final grade on the transcript.
