Dear 9th grade students,

Welcome back to another school year. We are very excited to have you as a member of the Class of 2025! As you transition to the excitement of high school, we wanted to offer the following opportunities to hear from inspirational speakers, learn concrete tools you can use to help ease your start to high school as well as have an informal setting to meet friends.  We have chosen to partner with My Robin, a group that follows a pedagogical approach that elevates traditional SEL (Social Emotional Learning) practice by teaching evidenced-based skills through an engaging coach/practice model to help students handle real-life challenges. All of the programs center around one of the five pillars of SEL: Self, Connection, Purpose, Resilience and Choices.

Some of your physical education teachers have been sharing short 2-3 minute videos to review at home to introduce you to the My Robin team.  To support those lessons we invite all 9th graders to the Stuyvesant theater on select dates below to hear from My Robin coaches in person. There will also be games and prizes for students based on participation.

We strongly encourage  you to attend these sessions, and place reminders in your calendars for the sessions that particularly interest you.  All 9th graders are welcome to attend any of these sessions and we look forward to seeing you soon!
