Dear students, Please remember that the SLT Meeting will take place on Tuesday, September 28 at Stuyvesant in person at 3:45pm. There will be an audio recording of the meeting available once downloaded in accordance with Open Meetings Law. Freshmen, remind your parents that we will host the ‘Stuy 101’ Workshop for Freshman parents and guardians with translation in Mandarin on Thursday, September 30. It will be a virtual presentation on Zoom. September 11, 2021 Dear Stuyvesant Community, We are thrilled to welcome students back to the school building on Monday, September 13, 2021, for the first day of the 2021-2022 school year. Please make sure to carefully read the following important reminders and To Do’s in preparation for school. Please note that schools will be closed on Thursday, September 16, 2021 in observance of Yom Kippur. Additionally, the NYC Test & Trace and the NYC Department of Health are conducting free vaccinations at Stuyvesant this week for students, families and staff ages 12 and up. During School * Students will report to their homeroom classroom by 8:30am. Homeroom will be 30 minutes each day. Students will engage in community building activities with their classmates led by their homeroom teacher. Underclassmen will meet with Big Sibs. Students should follow all safety guidelines including using sanitation wipes to clean their area of the table and chair before and after eating, take off their mask only when eating, and maintain 3 feet physical distance. Students who prefer to not eat lunch from the Cafeteria are allowed to leave the building during their lunch period (and free period). Please note, students must scan out when they leave and scan back in when they return. * Students will be permitted to leave the building during lunch and free periods. Lunch may be eaten in the 5th floor cafeteria or outside the building. Students may take grab-and-go lunches to exit the building. Students who exit the building during their lunch or free periods may only re-enter the building 10 minutes prior to the next period’s beginning bell. * Random COVID-19 testing of 10% of unvaccinated students will occur bi-weekly (NOTE: Families may consent to COVID-tested for unvaccinated students in their NYCSA accounts. Students who are vaccinated are not tested. Families may upload proof of vaccination in the NYCSA account. After School * All students will exit the building using the 2nd floor bridge. * PSAL activities and teams/practices are ongoing and take place after school. * Extra-curricular clubs and activities will start at the end of September after the Club/Pub Fair takes place later this month. * Use the hand sanitizer dispensers located throughout the building as you exit. Safety Incident Update

September 9, 2021 Dear Stuyvesant Community, We wanted to make you aware of a safety incident today involving three administrators. We received a suspicious envelope and followed all security protocols including informing the NYC DOE and NYPD. We did not have to evacuate the building as there was no immediate threat. However, out of an abundance of caution, the three administrators were isolated and PSAL activities were cancelled for the day. We will continue to follow all safety protocols and take all necessary precautions to keep our school community safe and healthy. We will continue to provide additional updates. Please note, the building will be open tomorrow. Additionally, we will be open to welcome back our students for the first day of school on Monday, September 13.
