February 28, 2024 Dear Stuyvesant Community, The safety and well-being of all students and staff members at Stuyvesant High School remain our highest priority. We want to update you about an email threat that we received at the end of the school day after dismissal. Consistent with our established safety protocols, we immediately reported the potential threat to the NYPD and the district office. The NYPD in partnership with the administration investigated the potential threat and after the initial investigation, no issues were found. We have continued all regularly scheduled activities inside of the school building. School safety agents, NYPD and staff are continuing to monitor the situation. We will also have additional NYPD officers at the school tomorrow. We assure you that every precaution was taken and will continue to be taken to ensure the safety of our students and staff. We want to remind students and staff to stay vigilant as they travel to/from school. We look forward to your continued partnership as we work together to ensure that Stuyvesant continues to provide the best and safest learning environment possible for all its students. Talos set to Term 1 today for report cards

Good morning, Please note that Talos is set to 2023-2024 Term 1 today to facilitate the electronic distribution of report cards. You must toggle to Term 2 in the upper right corner (not available on phones or tablets) to see current information for Term 2. This will revert back to term 2 before tomorrow. Also note, report cards are rolling out electronically throughout the day with comments translated in preferred written language. This takes many hours to deliver. If you do not receive a report card email in your inbox, spam, junk or trash folders, please view the grades by clicking “GRADES” on your Talos dashboard, then “MP3” on the right and scroll down. The CR grade request permissions have ben activated for parent accounts. CR Request Fall Term '23 Instructions - All grades - Begin 2/6/24

February 5, 2023 Dear parents and guardians, Your child will receive their report card via email on February 6, 2023 Parents/guardians with Talos accounts will also receive them via email with comments translated in their written preferred languages and they will be visible in Talos under the “grades” tab in MP3 for 2023-2024 Term 1. Parents/guardians and/or students over the age of 18 may choose to have any numerical passing grade of 65 or higher updated to a passing grade of “credit” (CR). Grades of “CR” will not be factored into students’ GPAs. If this is the choice you and your child make, you must communicate this request through your parent Talos account on talos.stuy.edu<https://talos.stuy.edu/>. Parents may choose the "CR" option for all courses with a passing grade or for specific courses with a passing grade. You have the right to discuss these options with school staff. Students who are over the age of 18 may request access to the “CR” function on their Talos account by contacting Ms. Ingram at ringram3(a)schools.nyc.gov. Instructions: * Ensure you are in “2023-2024 Term 1” in upper right corner * Click “CR List” on the left side bar of your account and then click “create” to select the grades you want to “CR”. * Click the “+” button and choose your student in the drop down menu * Select the course in the drop down menu * Click CREATE The program office will process the request. The “CR” will appear on your NYC Schools Account. You will not see the change on Talos until transcripts are uploaded much later in the term. Please note, the transcript is a record of all the classes a student is enrolled in over their high school career; this includes classes taken over the summer. A change to “CR” if requested will be reflected in the final grade on the transcript. Any parent who needs assistance accessing their Talos account should contact Ms. Ingram at ringram3(a)schools.nyc.gov<mailto:ringram3@schools.nyc.gov>.
