September 29, 2023 Dear Students, Families, and Staff, The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning in effect until 2:30pm today, and New York City Public Schools have activated a “shelter-in-place” for all schools. Starting Period 8, students will not be allowed to leave the building for lunch or for dismissal. We’re bringing students into the building and will continue to provide updates as we receive them. We will not be dismissing students until we receive notification that the “shelter-in-place” is lifted. We will continue to provide updates over the public announcement system in the building and will send out communication over email as we receive guidance. All after school activities including PSAL and this afternoon’s Chamber Music Concert are canceled. We will provide additional updates about dismissal shortly. Stuy Football vs. Tech 9/22 @6pm!

A message from the Stuyvesant Athletics Association: Stuyvesant football plays Brooklyn Tech on Friday at Pier 40! This is the first time we have played them as a league game in decades. Please consider attending the game. Everyone is welcome! Students, parents and friends! Our Stuyvesant theme is Beach Out, and we hope to see Hawaiian shirts and sunglasses all day Friday in support of the team. The SAA will be selling Hawaiian leis at the game! We anticipate a large non-Stuy turnout at the Pier, so show #StuyPride and don’t miss the big game! Be there for kickoff at 6pm at Pier 40!

Special Schedule for 6/26 and 6/27/2023

Dear students and families, On Monday, June 26, there will be a regular bell schedule for grades 9, 10, and 11. Graduates will report to the Barclays Center by 7:30am as per the letter from Mr. Polazzo sent on Thursday, June 22 by Ms. Ingram If you have questions regarding the graduation ceremony, please reach out to Mr. Polazzo at polazzo(a)stuy.edu<mailto:polazzo@stuy.edu>. On Tuesday, June 27, students will have a delayed start at 9:20am with student dismissal at 2:50pm. Dear Stuyvesant Students and Families, It is with both happiness for Assistant Principal McAuliffe and sadness for us that I share the news of Ms. McAuliffe’s departure at the end of this school year. Ms. McAuliffe will be the new Principal, I.A., at P.S. 55, Henry M. Boehm Elementary School in Staten Island starting July 1, 2023. I am so grateful for Ms. McAuliffe’s leadership during her time at Stuyvesant. She has consistently been full of positive energy and optimism in helping lead during the challenging and more stable times these past few years. I have been so impressed with her enthusiasm and support for her team’s many achievements in World Language, Music, and Art (which she led in the past), which consequently, produced an abundance of opportunities for our young people to showcase their talents and abilities inside and outside of the classroom. Ms. McAuliffe has worked in partnership with all constituents to help make Stuyvesant an exemplar for excellence in all the varied endeavors pursued. I want to thank her for her dedication, hard work, and leadership during her time at Stuyvesant. Her new community will be fortunate to have her lead their school.
