Dear Stuyvesant Families,

We are thrilled to welcome our students back on Thursday September 8, 2022, for the first day of the 2022-2023 school year. We hope you had a rejuvenating summer break and are excited about the new possibilities awaiting our young people. I am so optimistic about the year ahead as we continue to take positive steps forward from these past two years.

Our priority for this new school year is to build on and cultivate meaningful experiences so every student at Stuyvesant is acknowledged for who they are and recognized for who they are becoming. Life-learning experiences inside and outside of our classrooms and the transformational interactions with caring adults and like-minded peers are powerful influencers on the trajectories our young adults embark on during their high school journey. The past two years highlighted students’ desire to feel they truly matter in all of the spaces they occupy. We have a responsibility as a community to build their confidence, their intellect, and their skill sets to take on both the opportunities and challenges they will encounter at Stuyvesant and beyond. I am excited to work with you towards this goal to position our young adults to be the best version of themselves this school year.

Please make sure to carefully read the following important reminders and To Do’s in preparation for school.
