April 7, 2021

Dear Stuyvesant Families,

The restart of interscholastic sports through the Public School Athletic League (PSAL) is a breath of fresh air for our students and staff. We are excited to offer various athletic team opportunities (see PSAL timeline below) for the next three months.

In order to restart our athletic program for an abbreviated season, we had to make key decisions following the guidelines provided by the PSAL. Our decision to offer specific sports teams were determined by the following factors:

Although we will not be able to field as many teams as we traditionally do, we are excited to offer the ones we can for this brief season. We ask that you work in partnership with us as we restart our athletic program for our students to socialize with one another, to build teamwork, and to compete against other school teams.

Coaches (see list below) are starting to meet with their respective teams this week, and the month of April will focus on strength and conditioning activities. Students who want to join any of the designated PSAL teams will be required to fulfill the following requirements prior to any activity:

Our coaches are following both the PSAL Health Guidance and Stuyvesant Athletic COVID Action Plan (see attachments) to ensure safety and precautions measures are in place for our teams. Additionally, please click here for frequently asked questions related to PSAL. If you have questions, please reach out to Mr. Bologna for any questions related to our PSAL teams and coaches

Again, we look forward to bringing back many of our PSAL teams and excited to cheer on our student-athletes this school year!
