Dear Stuyvesant Families,

This morning the school received an anonymous phone call for a potential threat. After following protocols and conducting our investigation, we deemed the threat NOT credible. In an abundance of caution, we took extra precautions by having our safety agents, NYPD, and school staff visible inside and outside the building and had students remain in the building for lunch and free periods throughout the day.

We encourage students to be vigilant about safety at dismissal and on their commute home. Travel in groups where possible, remove headphones, and stay off cell phones in order to remain alert and aware of the physical surroundings.

We will continue with after school activities and PSAL as well as welcome families, students and guests for tonight’s STC performance of the Fall Musical “Matilda.” We have requested additional safety agents for this afternoon. We will have agents on duty as well as supervision by administration and staff members for the remainder of the day.

Thank you for your attention and cooperation as we work in partnership for the overall safety of our students and staff.

Sincerely,
