We know that you started your high school career under the most strange and challenging of circumstances. We also know that Stuy is a unique place...it can take a while to get used to in ordinary times. Hang in there! As a tenth grader, you do not need to know which colleges you would like to apply to as a senior, what you'll want to major in, etc...it is too early for these kinds of decisions! You have plenty of time to investigate your options and to work with your college counselors later in your high school career. Good afternoon parents and guardians of sophomores, Tomorrow, Thursday, November 4, 2021 at 6:30pm in Stuyvesant’s theater, we will host the annual Sophomore Parent Workshop! We will, for the first time, be streaming a live webinar simulcast from the theater. If you will be joining us in the theater, please note you must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and bring proof of vaccination along with government issued photo ID and perform the health screening<https://healthscreening.schools.nyc/> to enter the building. Masks are required at all times, and we will be socially distanced in the theater. Our program will have Director of College Counseling, Mr. Jeffrey Makris presenting on Early College Awareness. I will be presenting on an introduction to Naviance and reviewing highlights of using Talos. The Parent’s Association will be presenting to you as well as Assistant Principal, Ms. Casey Pedrick and Principal Yu, who will be covering our Social Emotional Learning Reintegration efforts at Stuyvesant. Good morning parents and guardians of sophomores, If your child was/is scheduled to come to Camp Stuy today and cannot make it due to transportation delays, storm issues, or other reasons, please note that even though there are NO make-up sessions, they will be able to meet counselors and Big Sibs and take ID photos during the first week of school. Please read the FAQ you were sent to address your questions before sending individual emails to the administration or myself on questions that are not addressed there.
