Good morning parents & guardians, We will host our Fall Open House for interested families of 7th and 8th graders on October 16 and 17 next week. We are in need of your help! We need volunteers to make our Open House a success. Parents (even our recent alumni parents) play a vital role in welcoming interested students and families to Stuyvesant and sharing their experiences and knowledge. We do not have enough volunteers to support Open House yet… time is running out! PLEASE sign up to assist us with any assignment such as welcoming families, supervising floors, selling Spiritwear or supervising student fundraisers. We are expected a very large crowd on the second day of Open House on October 17, which is the greatest need for volunteers if you can assist. REMINDER - CR GRADE REQUESTS - SENIOR GRADES ARE UP!

Dear class of 2024 families, Congratulations on graduation yesterday! We hope you had a wonderful celebration. This is a reminder that grades for seniors are visible on Talos and your NYC Schools Accounts now. IMPORTANT: Families of seniors wishing to request “CR” for credit in place of numerical grades must do so before noon on Monday, June 24 in order for the grade to be reflected on the final transcript sent to colleges. Instructions are in this update. Report cards will be electronically distributed through email on June 26 to all grades. If there is a grade missing, please check back later in the day or contact the teacher directly. We are uploading grades as they are completed. CR Requests for grades - SENIORS: Deadline 6/24 noon

June 18, 2024 Dear parents and guardians, For the Spring Term 2024, parents/guardians may choose to have any numerical passing grade of 65 or higher updated to a passing grade of “credit” (CR). Grades of “CR” will not be factored into students’ GPAs. If this is the choice you and your child make, you must communicate this request through your parent Talos account on talos.stuy.edu<https://talos.stuy.edu/>. PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY. Parents may choose the "CR" option for all courses with a passing grade or for individual courses with a passing grade. You have the right to discuss these options with school staff. Parents/guardians of SENIORS: In order for transcripts to be updated to reflect changes in time to be sent to colleges and institutions with final grades, senior families may review grades using parent Talos accounts as well as parent NYC Schools Accounts at mystudent.nyc beginning on Friday, June 21, 2024. By 4 pm on June 21, we will post grades to Talos under “Grades” and “MP3” for seniors. Grades are being posted as they are submitted by teachers. If you are interested in requesting any passing grade of 65 or higher converted to “CR” to be reflected on transcripts sent to colleges and institutions, these requests must be submitted no later than Monday, June 24, 2023, at 12:00 pm (noon) via parent Talos accounts. This is a hard deadline. Parents/guardians of grades 9-11: You may submit requests for any passing grade of 65 or higher to be converted to “CR” beginning June 26, 2024, when report card grades will be available via email and on Talos and NYC Schools Accounts. Parents/guardians with Talos accounts will also receive report cards via email with comments translated in their written preferred languages. The report cards will be visible in Talos under the “grades” tab in MP3 for 2023-2024 Term 2. Instructions for requesting “CR” in Talos Parent accounts: * Parent/Guardian must log into their Talos account. Good morning class of 2024 families, As a reminder, the site to choose purchased seating for commencement at United Palace opens today, Sunday, June 16 at 12:00pm, noon. Please follow the instructions we sent to you Friday, copied below, and in the attachment to select your seating. Any questions should be sent to Mr. Polazzo at polazzo(a)stuy.edu. All ticketing for the venue will be electronic. Tickets will be acquired by logging on to the website for Boletos Express at the following URL: https://www.boletosexpress.com/stuyvesant-graduation/76873. Tickets may be selected from a map of the venue, and you will check out with your student’s OSIS number. The ticketing site will open at 12 noon on Sunday, June 16th. You MUST select your seating on the website seating chart. Seats will be distributed on a first come, first served basis and will be emailed to the address entered on the site. Call for Volunteers: May 2nd College Fair

Where: Stuyvesant High School When: Tuesday, May 2, with different shifts starting from 2:30 onwards. Pick one that works for you! Stuy’s College Fair is happening on May 2nd! It’s an amazing event: College admissions representatives from over 110 colleges meet with 11th-grade students and their families. PA volunteers support all aspects of the event, plus we’re responsible for the dinner reception for the college reps. Many thanks to the College Committee and the Reception Committee for all the work already invested! We need volunteers from 9th grade, 10th grade, and 12th grade! 11th grade parents/guardians may not volunteer for this event.
